Ice Crusher builds ten Can-Am-specific heater kits covering the Defender and Defender MAX, Maverick X3 and X3 MAX, Maverick Trail and Sport, Maverick and Commander from 2009 to the current model year. Each one is designed around that machine's dash and firewall — the X3 kit, for example, mounts hidden behind the firewall and feeds six vents including dedicated defrost — so nothing is adapted or improvised. Coolant heat, 14,600 BTU, no battery drain beyond the fan.

Defender: two generations, split at 2020 when Can-Am changed the dash. The 2020–2025 kit covers every HD trim from HD5 to HD10 — both kits also fit the Defender MAX crew models — choose 2-seat or 4-seat at checkout so we pack the right hose length (no price change).
Maverick X3: the 2018–2025 kit is one of our three best-selling heaters and mounts hidden behind the firewall; the 2017 X3 has its own kit. Both fit the four-seat X3 MAX as well — pick 4-seat at checkout. The MaxStat is worth adding on the X3 — it adds 10 to 15 degrees of cab heat and keeps the engine thermostat from cycling open and closed so quickly, so the heat in the cab stays steady.
Maverick Trail and Sport: the two share a cab, so one kit covers both. XTP models need the differential control module moved to the firewall; the instructions show how.
Commander: 2021+ is a different machine from the 2009–2020 Commander; both have a kit with seven vents.

Every kit ships the same business day from Minnesota with the heater, vents, coolant hose, duct hose, fittings, hardware, specialty tools and picture-rich, step-by-step instructions — nothing to source at the hardware store mid-install.
The photo shows a typical kit laid out; the brackets, bezels and vent count change to suit each machine.
Four to eight hours with hand tools. The Defender and Commander have generous room behind the dash; the X3 is tighter, and its instructions walk the install step by step with photos. All the hardware, fittings, hose and specialty tools are in the box. Call 888-964-0135 if you have a question mid-install.

The MaxStat adds 10 to 15 degrees of cab heat and keeps the engine thermostat from cycling open and closed so quickly, so cab heat stays steady instead of rising and falling. We recommend it on the Maverick X3; it is optional on the Defender and Commander.
Yes — every Can-Am kit includes dedicated defrost vents.
No. Coolant heat; the fan draws about what a factory blower does.
2016–2019 Defenders use the HD5 / HD8 / HD10 kit; 2020–2025 Defenders (HD5 through HD10) use the newer kit built for the redesigned dash.
Yes. The Defender kits fit the Defender MAX and the Maverick X3 kits fit the X3 MAX. Choose 4-seat at checkout and we pack the longer coolant hose; the price is the same.

No — you can install the kit without them. But they make the job significantly cleaner and quicker, because you don't have to drain the coolant before cutting into the radiator hoses: clamp the hose off on each side, make the cut, and very little coolant is lost and very little air gets in. They are a $24.99 option at checkout on the kit page.
