Which John Deere Gator kit do I need?
XUV 825i, 825M and 855D: one kit for 2011–2022, gas or diesel. It mounts behind the glove box on the passenger side and feeds five vents with defrost. Choose one or two rows of seats at checkout.
XUV 835 and 865: one kit fits every 2018–2025 model. It mounts behind the center console against the firewall.
XUV 625i: two styles of heater for the same machine. The under-hood kit ($499.99) mounts behind the glove box with five vents; the under-dash kit ($399.99) mounts under the center dash with three vents. Both include defrost.
620i, 590 and RSX: one kit each — the 620i for 2007–2011, the 590 for every 2016–2021 submodel, and one kit for the RSX 850i and 860i.

Plan on four to eight hours with hand tools, depending on experience. Frequently asked questions
What does the MaxStat do, and should I add it to my Gator kit?
The MaxStat is our inline coolant bypass thermostat. It adds 10 to 15 degrees of cab heat by keeping hot coolant moving through the heater core, and it stops the engine thermostat from cycling open and closed so quickly, so the heat in the cab stays steady instead of rising and falling. It is a checkout option on the 825i / 825M / 855D kit, the 590 kit and the RSX kit.
Does it defrost the windshield?
Yes — every Gator kit includes defrost.
Will it drain the battery?
No. The heat comes from engine coolant; the fan draws about what a factory blower does.
Does the 825i kit fit the diesel 855D?
Yes. One kit covers the XUV 825i, 825M and 855D from 2011 to 2022.
Do I need the hose clamp-off tools?
No — you can install the kit without them. But they make the job significantly cleaner and quicker, because you don't have to drain the coolant before cutting into the radiator hoses: clamp the hose off on each side, make the cut, and very little coolant is lost and very little air gets in. They are a $24.99 option at checkout on the kit page.
