A heater for the Polaris General 1000 / Crew, 2016–2026
This Ice Crusher heater kit is built specifically for the Polaris General 1000 / Crew — not a universal heater adapted to fit. It puts 18,000 BTU of engine-coolant heat through 6 adjustable vents, including dedicated windshield defrost. The heater unit mounts along firewall behind center console. Because it runs on engine coolant, it makes real heat without draining your battery; the dual fans draw just 2–3 amps.
Prefer the single-fan kit? See the 14,600 BTU General kit.

Seat rows: Pick one or two rows of seats so we pack the right length of coolant hose. The price doesn’t change.

General

General 4
In-cab heat control (+$59.99): A control at the dash that sets how much coolant flows through the heater core. Turn the heat up, down or off for summer without reaching under the hood for the shut-off valve.

Hose clamp tools (+$24.99): A pair of clamp-off pliers that seal hoses up to 2 inches, so the coolant tie-in stays clean. Handy on radiator hoses too.

Questions we hear
Does it work with the Rockford Fosgate subwoofer?
Not this kit. If your General has the dash subwoofer, use the Rockford Fosgate version of the kit (works with #2889053, not the Stage 4 #2889306).
Single fan or dual fan?
Both kits fit the same Generals and both have 6 vents. The dual-fan kit moves 320 CFM for 18,000 BTU; the single-fan kit moves 180 CFM for 14,600 BTU. On a Crew, or in deep cold, the dual fan is the one.
Can I turn the heat off for summer?
Yes. The kit includes an under-hood shut-off valve. Add the in-cab heat control and you can turn the heat up, down or off from your seat.
Will it drain my battery?
No. The heat comes from your engine’s coolant, not the battery. The dual fans draw just 2–3 amps of 12-volt power, similar to an OEM blower.
How long does the install take?
Plan on 4–8 hours depending on experience. Experienced do-it-yourselfers land at the low end; first-timers should set aside a full day and follow the picture-rich instructions step by step.
Why buy an Ice Crusher heater
We’re not the cheapest UTV heater. We’re the one designed, supported and shipped by the people who answer the phone. Every kit is built for a specific machine, comes complete, and is backed by real people who know it inside and out. And we keep improving our kits, even when it means retiring our own older designs.
Warranty, support and shipping
3-year warranty on the whole kit, electrical included. If something goes wrong, tell us the problem and we make it right. Tech support is unlimited and free for as long as you own the heater: call 888-964-0135 and a real person in Minnesota answers.
Free shipping in the lower 48. Order by noon CT, Monday through Friday, and it ships the same day. Canada: $30–$50 per heater freight depending on province; duties, taxes and brokerage are extra.
